The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated the air conditioner cracked spontaneously, as a result smoke was emitted from underneath the hood and the battery power was draining. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the condenser compressor clutch and the coolant clutch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle identification number was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 39,000.

Odyssey

  • 55,000 miles
2006 Honda Odyssey - rock or some type of road debris punctured air conditioner condenser. This resulted in a repair bill approaching $1000. The condenser unit is located in the front of the vehicle without any protection. This is a definite design flaw with this vehicle which should be recalled and repaired by the Honda motor vehicle corporation.
