I took my 2008 Honda Odyssey to the dealer after receiving the brake recall notice. The dealer made the changes to correct the problem as per the recall notice. About 1 month later while I was traveling 50 -55 mphi had to stop quickly to avoid hitting a car that had stopped in the road ahead of me. The brake pedal went to the floor and the van did not stop so I was forced to pull off the road onto a lawn and my van side swiped a mailbox. This was a terrifying experience for me and my 11 year old son who was in the passenger seat. I took the van back to the dealer on Monday( 2 days after the accident) but was told the brakes were fine and the recall had been fixed appropriately.

I purchased four after market built in video/dvd monitor head rests that broke apart upon impact when the middle row seat was flipped forward into the front seat of my 2008 Honda Odyssey. The metal support pole was only attached to plastic. This is clearly a defect substandard design which causes concern for me of what would occur during an accident if by just the seat flipping forward into the other could break the housing. The head rest is made by tview mobile entertainment solutions (universal electronics Inc) 5721 savoy St. Houston tx 77036. 800.559.6580 or 832.251.2000 email info@tview.us. The model is T920pl-gr 9.2 tft. I purchased the video head rests from national auto sound located at 11001 E us hwy 40, independence, mo 64055 phone 816.356.8700 www.nationalautosound.com I was told when I purchased the head rest that they comply to safety standards but after the above incident they clearly do not. So my question is what are the standards for after market head rests and are there safety standards companies need to comply to?

Hello I would like to bring a very serious matter to your attention. On Sept 26th, 2009 between 12:30 ' 1:00pm, I was driving from binghamton, NY to hicksville, NY with my family I.e. my wife and 3 children aged from 18months, 3 years and 5 years old when the floor mat of my Honda Odyssey 2008 got stuck under the race pedal. This matter created a serious situation and sped my car over 80 mph. I had to keep on trying and pushing the floor mat down, fortunately I was able to push the floor mat away from the race pedal. This could have caused a serious crash or injuries; therefore I would like to bring this matter to your attention. I would truly appreciate if I could please get an acknowledgement from you of this report for my records. I hope you will bring this matter up with Honda so that they are aware that this is an issue with Honda Odyssey.
