The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact was driving 40 mph when the vehicle independently switched into low gear and attempted to stop without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who ran diagnostics, but could not duplicate the failure. They also inspected the brakes and transmission, but the diagnostics did not generate any failure codes. The manufacturer was contacted who stated that they corresponded with the dealer, but could not find a problem with the vehicle, and could not assist. The failure mileage was 36,138 and the current mileage was 41,000.
