The contact stated that while attempting to release a child from the rear passenger's side of the vehicle, the seat belt failed and the contact was unable to release the child from the seat. The contact had to severe the seat belt straps in order to release the child from the seat. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 70,000.

A six year old boy was playing with a seatbelt buckle. He stuck his finger in the square part of the buckle and the finger was stuck. Despite best efforts we were unable to get his finger out. The seatbelt had to be cut, the boy/buckle had to be taken to the er where bolt cutters were used to remove the buckle.
