In the 7 years we have owned this car it has gone through 5 full sets of brakes (pads and rotors) and 3 sets of calipers. The last set only lasted 6 months. It isn't driven roughly or excessively for that matter. We have only put on 60,000 in one year and the last set of pads only lasted 600 miles! Completely unacceptable and also very unsafe!

Rotors warped at 23,000 miles and they said it was my fault...not the brakes, the rotors! I paid to have the rotors resurfaced and new brake pads (although I didn't need them) and then again at 47,000 miles same exact problem. The service guy said it is general maintenance like brake pads and tires! This is not general maintenance it is crappy rotors!!!

Braking system is not beefy enough for this van. Honda also needs to re-engineer their brake system. I have had many Honda's but am not happy that I have to replace pads that are only half worn, and rotors at 18,000 miles, and the dealer wants to cover ZERO of it. They call it wear and tear. Now my back ones are starting to squeak....... and I only have 20k on the van. I even put the upgrades Thermo quiet Wagner ceramic pads on the front.....lets see how long these last with the design flaw....... I have been reading stories of people having to replace them 3 -4 times before they even hit 50k miles. If you buy an Odyssey, MAKE SURE THEY PUT THE BRAKES IN YOUR WARRANTY!

No car should need that many brake replacements and I have never heard of a single car having 8 full sets of brakes and 3 stuck calipers in 6 years of use.
