2011 Honda Odyssey. Consumer states problem with vehicle engine concerning oil leak and burning smell the consumer stated at approximately 6,000 he began to smell an odor of burnt oil when parked with the engine running. The smell was coming through the air vents. The consumer reported it to the dealer, where they found a loose oil filter. Within a day, the consumer smelled the burnt oil odor again. The consumer went to another dealer, where they placed uv dye in the engine to help determine the location of the leak. They determined it was caused by an oil drain bolt not being tightened to the manufacturers specifications. Soon after the appointment, the smell returned, and the next morning there was a small amount of oil on the garage floor under the engine. The dealer replaced the oil pan, gasket, crankshaft and main bearing bolt. All to no avail. The dealer stated whatever the cause, the smell was from oil leaking onto the hot exhaust pipe. In fact, burnt oil residue was found on multiple places along the exhaust pipe. The consumer stated the vehicle has been to the dealer five times in an attempt to fix the problem.
