Oil consumption noticed several oil changes ago. Now I am closely monitoring oil level and adding. This is getting expensive. Noticed on this site that others have same issue with this vehicle. I am have had to replace spark plugs due to misfire multiple times now.

Sometime in 2015 up to this writing, I had observed that after a few thousand miles from an oil change, the oil is no longer at its "normal level" on the dipstick. It happened twice in a row so I did an online research about this problem and found out that there was an oil consumption class action filed by Odyssey owners against Honda Motors. I called Honda and they confirmed there was indeed a problem with oil consumption on the above-mentioned car. The customer service gave me a case number where I showed it to a Honda dealership in our area; it happened it was time for an oil change. The service advisor at the local Honda dealership told me to bring in back the car after 1500 miles so their technician could check if it's really having excessive oil consumption. On the first week of August this year, my family and I drove to Columbus, OH and back to Illinois. After few days from such a trip, when I was driving to the grocery store suddenly the VSA and check engine lights were always on. I took the car to Honda and based on the computer diagnostic test performed, the mechanic found out that there is a need to replace the oil ring and possibly other parts related to the said problem. Since this is subject to a recall program I don't have to worry about payment as everything will be shouldered by Honda Motors.

My van is burning a quart of oil every 1000 miles. This is excessive. Honda has acknowledged the problem in TSB#11-033 but when I called Honda the said that my VIN number was not covered. A website (http://www.hondaproblems.com/trends/excessive-oil-consumption/) said that Odysseys from 2008-2011 were covered. I asked the operator at the Honda complaints dept. ((800) 999-1009) why it wasn't covered and she didn't know.

engine sign comes on while driving; spark plug burnt, etc
This happened two times in the last 6 months. I am afraid to give the vehicle to the ladies in the house; mostly they drive it. At times when the sign comes on, the vehicle begins to shake as if it is about to stall on the road. Took to the mechanic, who said it is a major problem something connected with the pistons. First time he gave a piston area clean up; just few days ago, he changed the burnt spark plug; informed me that the vehicle is burning too much oil as well, because, according to him the oil level was very low. I maintain the vehicle very well; oil change is done way ahead. All maintenance done timely. Still giving this headache. Besides, the "slippery" sign too is coming on.

I checked my oil level with 30% oil life and found that I needed to add 1 Quart of oil. Since it was time for an oil change, I went ahead and had it done. My mileage at the time was 13,000 miles. Now I have 15,000 miles with 80% oil life and I had to add another quart of oil. One quart every 2,000 miles is not acceptable.

I’m diligent about my car maintenance. Since the last 2 oil changes, the first time my car was almost completely out of oil; second time the “maintenance†light for oil came on around 58000 when I wasn’t meant to go back until 61000. I checked the oil and it was super low. I was told that shouldn’t happen and the car was burning oil. I had to buy oil for $45. Additionally - I had to have a spark plug replaced as a result - which cost me 286.60. I have had a lot of issues with his vehicle. However, this oil issue is a huge concern as I have 3 children that need to be driven around, I need to check my oil all the time so the engine won’t seize! I have read others have complained about this same/similar issue with the same make/model vehicle yet after contacting Honda there is no recall and I believe there should be.
