Had to replace front and back brakes at just over 35k miles. Ridiculous. I had a 2002 Honda van and I only changed the pads at about 75K miles and never had to do anything with the rotors. Dealer said it was by design that the brakes went out this early and it was 'normal'. Give me a break.

New in 2012.... driven around the city by my wife. Basically 10 minute highway speed twice a week. The rest city streets. 10 times a year driven for 2.5 hours at 110kmh.
At 6 months the rotors have to be serviced. 2.5 years later, out of warranty, I finally drive the vehicle for one of those 10 highway trips and conclude that the rotors are crap; vibration, such reduced braking, etc.
Oct. 2015. New rotors and new fresh pads are put on.
May 2016. After 6000 km, I finally get to drive the van for the my one of ten time per year, the front rotors are bad again... are said to be blue by Honda techs.... the front rotors are replaced under 20,000 km or 1 year ....
We had a 2002 Honda Odyssey before. I asked the rep to pull up those records.... no problem there..... Honda has a problem here.
Anyone with a good after market solution? In 6 months or less, I will need a solution.

While returning home from a trip to nearby mountain area, the steering wheel began shaking violently during braking in downhill areas to slow the van. We had experienced some slight vibration in the past, but it was comparatively minor. This episode was so bad, the car was not safely driveable. The repair shop attempted to mill the front rotors, but they were not able to bring them to within acceptable tolerances. After reading other complaints on this site about defective rotors on the Odyssey, I believe the manufacturer should have issued a recall because of health and safety impacts, but Honda did not do so. I was particularly disappointed because we had only 38,000 miles on the vehicle, most of it in town. As a result of this experience, we will not buy another Honda (this was our third-a CRV and two Odysseys).

Same as others...entire car shakes when applying brakes. Started a long time ago before vehicle had a lot of miles on it. Now the shaking is so intense when the brakes are applied that we are afraid it may not stop. Finally going ahead and having rotor/front brakes replaced. As others have mentioned, Honda denied knowing anything about others having similar issues and claimed it was a maintenance issue. Will be going somewhere else for repairs.

My 2012 Honda Odyssey Minivan only had 24,000 miles on it when it started shaking in the steering wheel when braking. The dealer said it was due to "stress braking." While I was there, another individual had her 2013 Honda Odyssey Minivan there for the same reasons. She had less than 20,000 miles & was told it was not covered under warranty. I believe that Honda has a systemic problem with the rotors on the minivans.

Wife complained of heavy vibration while braking. I took the rotors off the vehicle, inspected, and noticed they were warped by placing them flat on the concrete floor. I replaced the brakes and rotors with aftermarket Bosch rotors/ceramic pads. Problem has not re-occured.
