Odyssey

The contact owns a Diono car seat, Model Type: Cambria 2, Model Number: 31242 NA 01, Manufactured Date: January 9, 2024. The car seat was installed in a 2013 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the contact noticed an object in the middle of the road. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a cement wall. The contact stated that the side curtain air bag deployed as designed but caused the headrest of the car seat to collapse onto the forearm of the child seated in the car seat. Medical attention was provided, and the child was taken to the local emergency room. The child suffered an arm injury. A Police report was filed; however, the Police report number was not provided to the contact. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the cause of the failure was not yet determined; however, the car seat manufacturer had opened a case. The car seat was not replaced. The vehicle failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a diono safety seat, model type: Radian rxt model, model number US16900 and manufactured in 4/01/2013. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2013 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while attempting to release the crotch buckle, the buckle failed to release and required excessive pressure to release. The latch that held the seat in place also failed to secure the seat. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to purchase replacement parts, but then stated that the manufacturer would replace the crotch buckle. The seat was not repaired. The VIN was not available.
