paint peeling

My Odyssey is exactly 6 years old, and the paint began coming off the tailgate panel below the window while hosing off the car. Not a pressure nozzle, just a regular gardening nozzle ($3 at WalMart.) My wife is looking at a new 2019 CR-V, but I am advising against it if she expects it to still look good in the near future (or at ANY time for that matter.) In 45 years of owning and maintain cars, I've never had a paint issue of any kind.

Based on on line complaints, class action lawsuits and Honda extending paint warrant to 7 years (not enough) its clear Honda has problems with its paint. The fact that it comes off in sheets, which indicates poor surface preparation and or materials. Regional service manager won't cover partial cost to repair since I've not used the dealer very much for service! Not going to purchase Honda again...

The paint is peeling off everywhere. I need to repaint the whole car. The peeling can be slowed down, using touch up paint, but it is winning the battle.

Brought to Honda and they offered to pay 1/2 cost to repaint the entire roof of my car. So the cost to me is a little more than $500, but I have to rent a car while it's getting done.. :-(

Paint suddenly began peeling from the roof areas. The areas most in direct sunlight. Paint seems to be separating from the primer. My automotive repair facility has explained the proper method to repair will require removal of both the existing paint and primer down to bare metal. New properly matched paint and primer can then be applied. Apparently the existing primer and paint do not shrink and expand at the same rate as temperatures fluctuate here in southern California, thus causing paint / primer separation. My initial repair will require R & R of the paint of the entire roof area. Future paint / primer separation is expected to occur at the areas most exposed to sunlight. IE: engine hood, top of doors, rear door / hatch. The dealership where I purchased my Honda Odyssey has declined to assist with remedy, regardless of the purchase of an extended eight year warranty.

I have seen this issue many times online and even on the street. Why won't Honda take responsibility? I love their cars but this makes me rethink.

Paint peeling and flaking off the roof near the sunroof. Have gone to Honda and asked them to repair it and am waiting to hear from them.

This is the second large spot on the car to have paint peeling/flaking. We've done nothing but take good care of the car and hope Honda offers to fix the problem free of charge!

Have had several instances where the paint has peeled like a decal. :( Honda has fixed the first and stalling on this issue which is far worse.

Clearly Honda paint priming process is faulty as I noticed several complaints.

Noticed the paint starting to fall off the tailgate. took it to a local Dealer who took pictures and asked me to call Honda Canada for a "good will" repair as I was 4 months out of paint warranty. While waiting for Honda Canada to get back to me, I took the vehicle to 3 separate paint repair shops and was told the same thing 3 times. This problem started at the factory where the sealer/primer was still wet or defective at the time the paint was applied and did not adhere properly. It looks like there is no problem until the paint breaks or cracks. This is when the paint will start falling off. It started off as a 4 square inch patch and within 2 weeks has grown to 16 square inches in size and is now cracked on the other side of the tailgate. Honda Canada called back and said that they would cover 50% of the cost to refinish the tailgate. I said NOT good enough. After informing them about the paint problems as described from the repair shops and informing them that this is currently my 3rd Honda and one before that, (so 4 Honda vehicles) they changed their tune and will "look into this case further". I now await their call back.
