Odyssey EX-L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

There are two large cooling fans in the vehicle: one for the A/C condenser located on the passenger side, and the other for engine cooling. Both fans operate at two speeds—low and high.

At around 90,000 miles, the relay for the main fan failed. This caused two noticeable symptoms:

On hot days, when the car was stopped, the A/C began blowing warm air.

The main fan failed to switch to high speed when the car was stationary and the engine was hot.

After researching online and using a relay tester, I was able to identify and replace the faulty relay. It was manufactured by Omron and located on the top row, third or fourth from the left.
