The power lift gate would not open with the button on the dash, the button on the door, or the button on the key fob. The only way I could open it was to crawl in the back of the van, remove the access panel for the lock mechanism, and use the lever to unlock the door. Upon troubleshooting the problem, it was determined that the power lift gate control module needed to be replaced. That fixed the issue, however Upon inspection on the old module, which is located inside the vehicle, behind the driver rear quarter interior panel, there was obvious signs the failure was due to severe water damage intrusion into the module.

My family and I had just gotten on the parkway and the car wouldn't downshift. I noticed the "Drive" light kept blinking and then the dashboard lit up with so many different warning messages. "Emmissions system problem" was the message that stayed on. All of a sudden the car started shifting on its own into neutral, while we were on the parkway. Thank goodness there was an exit approaching and we were able to get off before we were injured in an accident. I have been having battery issues ever since I got this car. Even when it was brand new, sometimes it just wouldn't start. If I wait a little bit, eventually it starts, but I have already had to replace a battery at 30,000 miles because of this. It has been happening again, but when I bring it to Honda and my mechanic, the battery is normal. After doing research, it appears there was a recall on the 2019 Honda Odyssey with an issue relating to the battery connection that causes that transmission to reboot while driving and shift on its own. Honda claims my car was not part of this recall, but this is exactly what happened to me, and I have a 2019 Odyssey. They have had my car for three weeks now and can't find answers to fix the problem. When I first brought the car in, they said the technician was finding "A LOT of stuff." Fast forward two weeks, and they called to say it's not happening anymore so they are ruling it an "intermittent issue" and to come get the car (not fixed). I told them I do not feel safe with my children in that car. I need answers. I contacted Honda Corporate who said that Honda told them the transmission fluid was the reason, and to start with that and see if it happens again. I asked them about that recall and they said "well your car doesn't come up with it." Is it just a coincidence that the same thing has been happening to my car? I asked if they were able to find out why the car doesn't start "intermittently" and they said, "no, it hasn't happened while here."

The Tailgate Control Module failed on three different occasion on my 2019 Honda Odyssey mini van causing the tailgate to fail to be opened by fob or manually. This was caused by water leaking through the roof rail where there was a failure by the manufacturer to properly seal the area between the roof and body.I have two of the failed TCMs in my possession. On 2 different occasions the tailgate flew opened as I was driving at approximately 55 mph.At that time the tailgate could not be closed entirely and caused my battery to run down entirely. The problem has been confirmed by the local Honda dealership and another independent service center.A warning and beeping noice came on as the first sign of the problem.I have photos of the crack and what was done to try to remediate the problem. This problem has been recognized and occurred to many other owners of 2018 - present day Honda Odyssey mini vans.

The following message suddenly appeared one day and since then, they kept coming back on every time starting the car: ACC problem, Collision Mitigation Problem, Lake Keep Assist Problem, Auto High Beam Problem, Brake Problem, and sometimes Transmission Problem as well. After research online, many other owners of the same vehicle had the same issue and which may be caused by faulty connector or faulty front camera component for the hardware issue; or software issue which was on the previous recall for the multi-media issue on the Odysseys. There is a HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 18-006 for the 2017-2018 CR-V models of the same issue/symptoms: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It is very common problem with 2018-2023 honda odyssey. Water leaks inside from the seam crack under roof drip trim. This water is dripping right on the tailgate control electronic module. And module is short circuit and dead. Now tailgate is either stays locked or stays open all the time as the latch is not operating at all. This is safety issue as if tail gate is not latched properly it can be open while driving on the road. Also with water leaking inside in trunk area it's a issue with growing mold under the carpet. It shows error message on instrument panel about trouble with tailgate system.

My vehicle would say mitigation control system failure, and would flutter by turning off and back on and making the vehicle in operable for a few seconds while in motion. Also, would have a transmission gauge issue and would make the car inoperable, and wouldn-??t move at all, would only turn on and would function like the radio, lights, etc.

The multipurpose camera in the front windshield has failed, causing the adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and correction, forward collision to fail. Even the non-ACC cruise control is locked out due to the failed camera. Honda will charge ~ $1800 to replace, and I can-??t afford that. Problem confirmed by Ian-??s of Broken Arrow. They confirmed it was the camera and not the radar unit. The failure of the camera causes a host of persistent dashboard warnings, but none preceded the failure.

The issue I am experiencing is a power tailgate control module failure, specifically part# 74970-THR-A12. The part is located on the driver side rear, and the issue appears to be due to a water leak coming between body seams and slowly dripping down into the module. Over time the water damage seeps into the control module casing and causes corrosion on the circuit board. This, then, renders the power tailgate inoperable. In my case, it just suddenly stopped working. A couple weeks, while the tailgate still did not work, I did receive a message saying "tailgate open" while I was driving. But, that issue went away on its own, and the tailgate didn't appear to actually be open. It is unclear if this type of electrical failure could also cause a tailgate to open unexpectedly while driving. Looking up this issue online, it appears that many other Odyssey owners have experienced the exact same issue (water leak and corrosion on control module). This should be considered for a recall given that so many drivers have experienced the exact same issues under the exact same circumstances. It seems like the issue could be solved by simply determine where the leak is occurring from. While my Odyssey is still under an extended warranty, the dealer charges to perform a diagnostic do not make it worthwhile for me to have them determine if it is covered, and I will choose to replace the part on my own. Below I have attached 4 photos showing my specific circuit board with water damage, plus the area in which the control module sits in the car, where you can see rust due to water seepage. I also experienced rapid and sudden battery drain in the past, and others in the forums that experienced this tailgate issue have also noted that they believe it may be related. Even after I replace the part, I am afraid of the issue reoccurring and/or the water leaks creating additional electrical problems in the car.

A water leak has ruined TWO power liftgate control modules. The water leak probably comes from the roof or driver rear window welds. I replaced one module two months ago and the new one has also malfunctioned due to water intrusion. This causes the liftgate to be stuck open or closed and could potentially open when driving!

The passenger sliding door does not open when it automatically opens. It doesn't matter which button you press to open the passenger sliding door, when it opens and slides back, it does not fully open and does not stay open. As it gets close to the rear, it makes the warning beeping sound then begins to close, causing it to be inoperable and not properly function as it's suppose to.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" the tailgate will not open. Yes, I can have it inspected. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This limits the ability to use the tailgate. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have brought the car into the dealership to fix the tailgate. The motor was replaced and they stated they sealed the back to prevent water from getting in. It has since broken again and currently it will not open. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The first time it broke the dealership inspected and fixed the problem. It is now broken again and I haven't brought it into the dealership yet. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" I got a tailgate error multiple times, also the battery was draining really quickly - which I think was due to the trunk issue.

I'm experiencing several error messages on my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which include issues with the Brake System, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Auto High-Beam, Road Departure Mitigation System, Collision Mitigation System, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). These warnings are not only persistent but raise significant safety concerns, especially during instances where sudden braking is necessary due to a vehicle abruptly cutting in front. The constant illumination of the Brake System lights is particularly alarming as it casts doubt on the reliability of the brakes in critical situations. It appears that these problems are not isolated, as other Honda owners have reported similar safety risks affecting both drivers and passengers.

Issue Fuel Pump Recall Report: My vehicle was identified as an affected vehicle of this recall. The designated honda service shop failed to share the recall details when the specified engine stall was reported to the dealership at check in. When the vehicle engine stopped prior to the incident automatic sliding doors also stopped working and one week prior to this the audio and electrical outage on the media console also went out. All of the cracking and sound issues including inability to connect a phone properly via Bluetooth (no handsfree capability), the screen going black and or just blue without any display. Cruise control has never worked properly and fails to adjust speed or stop accelerating so basically has never been operable. Dealership and Honda recall campaign has failed its clients tremendously on this one. I have zero trust in them or their interest to do the right thing. The safety concern remains: no reliability on speed acceleration on cruise control capabilities, no reliability on reverse cam or view quality, automatic door malfunction not sensing obstruction within a safe time to avoid impact, failure to avoid on coming traffic if the vehicle stalls in the way of high speed traffic or in route on freeway. Safety issue: the failed communication of the recall never ever shared by the dealership while vehicle was brought in for oil changes with diligence. Failure by the dealership to note the explained concerns as part of the nationally acclaimed recall (not in compliance). The dealership not seeing the direct safety obstruction of my (the drivers safety) and passenger safety (minor children) is subject to harm "DAILY" on account of the manufactured malfunctional processes.

The vehicle's tailgate stopped working and a series of distracting alerts repeatedly popped up on the instrument panel. Upon inspection, the liftgate control module had a significant amount of corrosion on the pins and on the circuit board itself, despite the surrounding area seeming dry. Replacement of the control module did not completely fix the problem because the connector pins are corroded and dirty.
