For over a year I have this crappy car to the dealership and they can never validate that at times when the car goes idle at a light/stop sign and turns back on the radio basically dies. End up with no audio connection on any type or sound. Sometimes a simple turn off/on will correct the issue but sometimes it could take several attempts to get it working again.

I've taken this in to be fixed 4-5 times already. The problem occurred since new and they have not been able to fix it. They either said they could not replicate or that they did not have a solution. I took it in for all the recalls and to again try to have it fixed in Aug 2020 and 10 minutes after I picked it up it was dead again. This is a safety hazard. I can't use the phone hands-free, I can't navigate, I can't listen to books on tapes, I have missed exits and turns while driving because either the volume goes off or the entire thing goes dead.
Sometimes in the beginning if I was driving and turned off the car, and open the door and close the door, and then restarted the car - it would work for a while. Now even that does not make it work. I kept having to pull to the side of the highway.
I drive many miles a year and this is dangerous!
I have owned Honda Odyssey exclusively over the last 20 years and I have never experienced so many problems!

Hour 1 into a 14 hour road trip, the infotainment system decided to show a tuner error and stop producing sound completely. This made it difficult to follow gps and no audio for the ride home with two small kids in the car was not fun.
Along the way we learned that when we turned the van OFF, the infotainment system would stay ON. It was stuck drawing power. We dimmed the screen, locked the car and took our lunch break hoping the battery would not be dead after lunch. Thankfully the car started and we made it up the east coast and arrived home in silence (just kidding... we have 2 under 3).
The only way to get the infotainment system to turn off or reboot was to disconnect the car battery.

Since the month 3 after purchase, it all started with a "static popping noise" in the infotainment audio. Then it started to scale up freezing DVD screen, loosing Bluetooth audio, loosing reverse and right-mirror cameras, and now the entire infotainment system goes down. The central screen gets frozen even with the vehicle turned off... as you may wonder it results in battery discharge over night.
The "factory reset" settings also fails, so in many times the problem lasts days. Its randomly "resolved" for some weeks until it happens again. In some cases it repares 'itself' over night, in some cases it is posible to perform a factory reset. In some others it is neccesary to remove the infotainment fuse so the system gets forced to restart.
Of course, it is not possible to have any personal configuration because it gets lost in each system reset.
It has had around 10 warranty visits to the dealer's shop in 18 months (jan 2019-may2020 so far). They have changed all computers, amplifiers and modules related to infotainment system, but the fail is still there.
Its really disappointing ... it would be a perfect car.. the driving, comfort and all other things are really awesome, but it's really frustrating to loose entertainment, audio and more in the mddle of a 10-day family trip.

Since owning the Odyssey I have complained about the DVD system not working properly but alas when I took it in it worked just fine for them. I now have my XM shutting off constantly or losing signal, the DVD player is still haunted, and my favorite new electrical issue is when I’m trying to load the back the tail gate just shuts on me. This can be quite frustrating as I have hit my head a few times trying to get out of dodge. This problem mainly happens when I’m in large parking lots so I’m not sure if it’s because people are hitting their trunk buttons or what. I tried standing away from bumper thinking maybe I’m tripping the under car sensor but it doesn’t help. Tomorrow I take the car in for these issues that I’m sure I’ll get “we cannot find†along with the gas cap that was fixed once already for continually popping open. These problems come and go. Sometimes everything is ok for awhile and then like now XM constantly shutting off.

Sirius XM radio quits for extended periods of time. Not related to place or any obstruction.

Bought a new 2019 Honda Odyssey in October 2018. Not even 3 months after we bought the minivan, the infotainment system started having issues. We get error messages stating radio unavailable, network communication lost, no audio connection.
Took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem so there was nothing they could so they reset the radio and said that maybe because our phone company was not compatible with the radio that is what was causing the issue. Well they reset it and not even a week later we had the same issues. Took it back again and again they could not duplicate the issue, so they reset it and sent us on our way. This happened 5 times and finally we took it when it was having the problem so they could see it. So they said the display needed to be replaced because the touch screen was bad. They replaced it last month and now a month later we are having the same issues and more.
Now the radio turns off while we are driving, it freezes, it won't turn on sometimes, the back up camera won't work sometimes, the rear entertainment turns off when it wants to. It is really frustrating because we take long drives to and from Florida every 2 months and we have kids so the entertainment system helps keep them entertained as well as keeps us awake when we are driving at night. So not having the radio working makes it unbearable to take the trip.
I know that if i take it to the dealership they are not going to do anything about it because they have been less than helpful and to top it off they wont give us a solution because they can never duplicate the problem so they say. I have had enough of this and something needs to be done I have never been so disappointed in a car company in my life and for the price I have to pay each month for my car payments this isn't right to have to deal with this with a brand new car not even 8 months old.

Honda should do more QA before selling this defective entertainment system and a lot of electrical problems with this model.

Infotainment system is crashing and unusable. Radios, back up camera and navigation system work for a short while and then crash again. The problem can be a danger as a constant distraction and loss of use on the back up camera. It’s illegal in my state to use a cell phone if it’s not hands free. I need to use my cell phone in hand for navigation which is too dangerous. The service department at my dealership claims that my problems are quite unique and are not widespread. I’m calling BS on that. After repeated visits to the service department, I just need this problem fixed so I can get back to concentrating on my work and better focus on my daily drives. Any suggestions?
