My 2020 Honda Odyssey with 41,000 miles on it suddenly had 9 different error codes flash. We have kept up on all maintenance, and I drive like a grandma. The warning lights included road departure mitigation problem, auto high beam problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, brake system, and transmission problem. I noted at this time that it had difficulty shifting into high gears, especially when accelerating faster. It also required me to apply more force to the brake pedal when braking.
We took it into Richland, WA Honda Dealership for our appointment, but they somehow didn't have it scheduled until a month later, and refused to work with us to get it looked at. I left the shop almost in tears I was so frustrated. We took it to a different mechanic, who $200 later stated it was the sensing camera, and since he wasn't able to calibrate it, told us to take it back to the Honda Dealership. I ended up having to take it to Yakima, Wa Honda dealership as I have NEVER had a positive experience at Richland, WA dealership and never want to go back.
Yakima's service is amazing, but it is a 90 minute drive from my house. We had to drive two vehicles up to Yakima, leave the van for 5 days, then drive back up to pick it up. The combined cost in gas was almost $100. They had to charge us for their own diagnostic, and discovered the same thing as the other mechanic. It was a total failure of the sensing camera. The new camera was $1600 out of warranty. Plus labor costs. It ended up being just short of $2200 out of our pockets. When this camera goes out, the van can't shift or brake correctly, and is essentially a very expensive piece of yard art. Very surprising and frustrating that so many critical functions in the van run through one system, so when the one system fails, the van is basically worthless.
