I just purchased this vehicle used for blue book value from a reputable dealer. I was told the only problems were the blower motor and rear doors were stuck closed. I fixed those problems easily and began driving it to work and back every day. After putting about 350 miles on it, I heard something smack the undercarriage and in my rearview I saw a chunk of rust on the road. When I got home I looked underneath and discovered that my entire frame is completely rusted with holes the size of my fist in about 10 different areas, some of which are key structural areas. At work, I raised it up on a lift and had a welder take a look. His face turned white and said it was way beyond a simple patch job here and there. Upon research I discovered that all these models have similar issues. I am still driving the vehicle because it is my only one and I cant afford to do anything about it right now. The estimated cost just to patch a few places to limp it along for another year was almost what I paid for the truck. The whole reason I bought it was because I need a reliable vehicle to drive in Wisconsin winters and its a Honda. Other than that it is a great running vehicle with no other major issues, but the frame rust is enough to render it unusable. I drive 80 miles a day on an interstate at 65-70 mph and am very concerned for my safety and the safety of others. I realize its a vehicle up North where they use salt but I have had way older cars with not half as much damage from rust. I am convinced that this is an Isuzu faulty product issue and not normal for the age of the truck.
