I have owned plenty of cars throughout my life (especially Hondas), most have had navigation systems, and I have never had a car with as bad of a navigation system as the 2023 Pilot! This navigation system is the ABSOLUTE WORST. I punch in legitimate addresses and the system can NEVER find them, ever. I enter them into my phone and, viola! the address magically appears on my phone.
I cannot for the life of me get the volume of the guide to be lowered, so I muted it. The interface is difficult to figure out, and doesn't show a step-by-step overview of the directions. You also don't have the ability to review other routes. I spent $58k on this car and my $1,000 smartphone has better directions than this thing. It's so pathetic and disappointing. I have to hold my phone in one hand when I'm driving if I want to get to my destination on time.
I went to a wedding an I tried to rely on the Pilots GPS - what a mistake. It couldn't find the church (which is 100+ years old) no matter what input method I tried: address, name, etc. Nor could it figure out where a fast food restaurant was that was located near a major university (it actually routed me ACROSS A BRIDGE INTO THE NEXT STATE OVER). After those two mishaps, I should've known better. But on our way home, I figured it could take us home without any drama (wrong). It started taking me some way that is so out of the way and long (I have the setting tuned for fasted route, toll roads OK, etc). When I checked my phone, the fastest route was a completely different route from the way the car was taking us.
At this point, there's probably very little I can do. I'm just so disgusted that I spent all this money on a car that has a navigation system so bad that it can't perform it's intended function. Maybe I'll complain to Honda and see if any updates can be done.
