Prelude 4WS

I had the timing belt replaced at 70k as usual. The timing belt blew halfway through the expected life span 40k later, & it took the engine with it - as will happen with all Preludes..

The mechanic said the first shop that had replaced the belt back at 70k probably hadn't tensioned it properly.

He said the first shop should also have replaced the tensioner pully AND the water pump, which is driven by the timing belt.. both parts are relatively cheap & will break the timing belt if they are not replaced & eventually fail.
