Car makes clicking/knocking noise in front end when turning left or right. Took to dealership and they said it is likely CV joint issue. Part is on back order and awaiting part for replacement. Unclear how safe it is to drive in this condition. Occurred with around 2000 miles on the car.

CV axle half shaft failure.

The Propulsion System Error warning light (a red car icon with an exclamation point) has appeared multiple times since I purchased the vehicle. This has occurred while driving, charging, or turning on the vehicle, with no apparent cause or trigger that I can identify. I have made several attempts to have the issue resolved by Honda, but they repeatedly provide excuses, such as the unavailability of an EV technician or the lack of proper equipment to update the car's computer software. During the most recent occurrence, I was driving when the error light came on, and I experienced reduced acceleration-?"something I don-??t recall happening before. This presents a significant safety concern for me and others on the road. A sudden reduction in speed increases the risk of being rear-ended by an inattentive driver, or worse, becoming stranded in the middle of a travel lane. Honda has inspected the vehicle previously and documented the error codes and they have just cleared the codes or updated the software on the car. No additional symptoms were present leading up to the issue. This ongoing problem needs urgent attention to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle.

I have 9,500 miles on my car and within the last week every time I make a turn (either direction) there is a very loud clicking/grinding noise coming from the CV Axel. I-??ve noticed it-??s a common theme for Prologues & have been told it-??s safe to drive but there are currently no remedies for this problem. It makes mes very nervous that it is going to turn into something worse soon.
- Independence, OR, USA
Since this vehicle came out new from the dealer, every time I make a U-turn it makes a sound in the cv joint, especially when it is on the left side.
- Miami, FL, USA
When turning and accelerating either direction, a clicking noise is hear. This is diagnosed as the CV Joints and the drive axles. The issue is worse in cold climate.

UNKNOWN- car makes loud knocking sounds when turning right or left. Not sure what it could be but I read other people say it-??s an axle issue. Took car to Honda, they inspected car and said it was fine and cannot figure out why the sound is occurring, but did say all prologues have this knocking sound when turning. Honda is currently investigating why this is happening and as of now, my dealership said the car is safe to drive even though I hear the sound daily and it makes me nervous. I use this car daily to drive my kids to school and myself to work and it is the only car I have but it is worrisome.

Both CV shafts click under load turning
- Celina, OH, USA
When turning sharply right and left a knocking sound occurs when accelerating. I have reproduced the sound multiple times. Service department confirms the CV joint is failing.
- Novelty, OH, USA
When making a sharp left hand turn out of a parking lot I hear a loud clicking coming from, it seemed, the front right hand side. This clicking seemed to be at the tire rotation rate and ceased when I straightened out after the turn. I have heard a similar sound when the u joints in a prior car of mine were about to fail.

Knocking noises from CV joint when turning left.
- Salem, MA, USA
The car has a clicking sound when turning left or right. The dealership says that it is caused by a failing CV Axel. This apparently has been happening to dozens and dozens other Honda Prologues. I have not contacted the manufacturer about this issue as the dealerships are aware. This failure could lead to safety issues as it is related directly to steering and power train. There are not any notifications, messages, or lamps pertaining to this issue. When I leased this vehicle, the clicking was not happening to the one I leased, but the vehicle I test drove was doing it much more frequently than mine currently is.

My 2024 Honda Prologue had less than 900 miles on it when "High Voltage Warning" appeared on my dash, and warned me to take the vehicle to a service center immediately - I did, and now my Prologue has been in service for 20 days straight. (As of 1-17-25)
- Gaithersburg, MD, USA
Front CV axles make loud clicking when making sharp turn from stop.
- Glen Ellyn, IL, USA
The car makes a clicking noise when turning left or right under acceleration or deceleration. The seems to be a low droning sound when turning right at moderate speed. No lamps or messages of any error is displayed. Dealer inspected and confined the noise but did not specify a permanent fix. The back order part to attempt repair is a driver's CV axle. The part is said to be back ordered about 3 weeks.

When backing up rear park assist slams on brakes with no person or vehicle in sight. Incident #2 While driving on the highway all screens including radio and instruments went out leaving no access to range or speed. Had to take to Honda dealer for factory reset. Incident #3 Axels are clicking and shop states are broke and on back order. Vehicle had less than 8k miles on it when issue started.
