2024 Honda Prologue Elite AWD experiences severe drivetrain shudder, banging, and lurching when turning at or near full steering lock at low speeds (e.g., parking lots, U-turns, three-point turns). Severity increases significantly in cold ambient temperatures (below approximately 32?F). The front axle feels as though it is binding and releasing repeatedly, causing the entire vehicle to lurch violently. The condition is present from cold start and does not fully resolve even after the drivetrain warms up after several minutes of driving. The vehicle has been to an authorized Honda dealer three times in approximately one month for this same condition, all under warranty, between approximately 7,660-?"7,675 miles: Visit 1: Dealer verified failed outer CV joint on left front half shaft. Left front half shaft assembly replaced. Visit 2: Right front half shaft outer CV joint diagnosed as failing. Right front half shaft assembly replaced. Visit 3: Binding and lurching returned in both directions. Both left and right front half shaft assemblies replaced again. Vehicle held approximately two weeks waiting for parts. In total, four front half shaft assemblies have been replaced across three warranty repairs using the same GM part number. The condition returned immediately upon picking up the vehicle after the third repair. While severity is somewhat reduced, the shudder, binding, and lurching during turning persists. This is not a minor clicking noise as some owners have reported -?" the vehicle lurches and bangs enough to affect steering control. During a test drive, the foreman acknowledged this was clearly a safety issue. The violent lurching during low-speed turns reduces driver control and steering predictability in parking lots, intersections, and residential areas where pedestrians are present. The abrupt jolting could cause a driver to instinctively brake or overcorrect. No warning lamps or DTCs were present during any failure. Symptoms are purely mechanical.

Axels make a clicking noise when making a sharp turn from a stop. Axel failure can lead to catastrophic accident. Dealer inspected and confirmed noise. Dealer advised that Honda is refusing to replace the axel under warranty with the current available part. the noise is evidence of parts of the axel assembly making contact when they are not supposed to which will inevitably lead to failure which makes this a serious safety issue. Honda is supposedly aware of the issue and is working on a fix. This has been a known failure issue since the car was released. Honda has had more than enough time to fix it. It's failure to so so on such a critical part is inexcusable.

Loud clicking, metal on metal grinding noises at the front (both) wheel axle when making a right or left turn. Noise started around 7500 miles on and off. Now at around 9k miles the metal on metal grinding noise is getting louder and more frequent. Every time when the car is stopped and then accelerate to a turn (right and left) or during a U turn is when the noise is the loudest. Every time the steering wheel makes a full turn the noise is louder. I was told by a local dealership that Honda does not have an explanation. Honda has stopped replacing/fixing the issue unless the parts are showing damaged. It sounds like they are not proactively doing anything about it until someone gets hurt or something goes wrong and that is concerning.

December 2024 (3405 miles on vehicle): front axles started making clicking noises. Went to dealer and was told that axles were on backorder. March 2025 (5180 miles on vehicle): one axle was replaced. Was told other axle was on backorder. November 2025 (14331 miles on vehicle): went to dealer again to have axles looked at, since Honda had no record of axles being on backorder. Axles ordered again. January 2026 (15146 miles on vehicle): went to dealer for axles replacement. Honda told dealer that axles should not be replaced, as the issue is being investigated by Honda. Vehicle continues to make very loud clicking noises when turning, and excessive clunking when slowing down and turning. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" Front axles, yes. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle drives ok but makes tons of noise and it is very concerning. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Unknown. Vehicle has been at the dealer several times for the same issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" Clicking and clunking. Noises have remained from 3000 miles on (vehicle now has 16000 miles).

Took posession of car at 5k miles. No issues. At around 8k started noticing a clicking noise when making turns; especially tighter turns. Finally, took it to dealership today 2/9/2026 and was told nothing they could do and it is not a safety issue according to Honda since there is no visible defect seen. The technician did confirm the noise when doing a test drive while vehicle was being inspected. Was told it is how the CV joints are meshing together when making a turn, and again is not a safety concern.

CV joints left and right make very loud clicking noise, the service department at the dealer ordered the parts in December of 2025, i have been at the dealer twice and today February 6, they told me that the parts are not expected until the end of March, I do not feel safe driving the car. Also the auto emergency brake does not work properly when backing up, false positive hard brakes happen all the time.

When driving, frequent knocking sounds can be heard coming from the engine when at a stop to turn, and accelerate. The electrical system was faulty with the engine electrical system indicating problems- the heater shut off, so we had no heat during a 90-minute road trip. Tire pressure monitor indicates low tirepressure and seems unresponsive. I brought it in for service. The electrical system was fixed, but the tire pressure remained low, was noit addressed and return to me with all tires at 32psi. Maintenance person commented, " Sir, all I do is return the vehicle to you"... Please advise. Thank you 4900

The CV joints began clicking when turning at low speed and were repaired under warranty by the dealer. Dealer warned this is happening with lots of Prologues and might recur. Now approaching 7000 miles and the problem is occurring again, requiring further service. It doesn't appear that the replacement/fix is actually better, so the problem just keeps happening.

It's a noise coming from the front of both tires; it's a very, very unpleasant noise that's a little frightening because it's in the suspension area of -??-??the tires, and it sounds like something could break. The noise is also very loud and quite annoying. It's uncomfortable to drive with that noise all the time; it's constant when turning left or right. I'm trying to figure out if it's a manufacturing defect or something that can be fixed. I've already taken it to the dealership twice to report this problem, and they tell me it's normal, that the car is supposed to make that noise, but I don't think it's normal. I need an answer to my problem before I can talk to my lawyer because I don't think this is normal. It's a new truck; I don't think this is normal.
