About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The reverse lights are inadequate. If its very low light conditions you can barely see anything.

The reverse (or backup) lighting on my 2025 Honda Prologue Elite is so useless it may as well not even exist. During the daytime, the reverse camera view is helpful and detailed. At night, or without bright ambient light, you can't even see beyond the rear bumper. Stepping on the brakes gives brief added light, though still not adequate. And you can't continue to press on the brake while backing up. This lack of lighting creates a significant safety hazard when backing up, parking, or checking surroundings at night.

The backup camera on this vehicle is basically useless at night if there are no streetlights around. I don-??t know if this is a combination of a poor camera and dim reverse lights or just a bad camera, but I think it-??s a safety hazard. This is new vehicle using current technology, the camera should be able to see at night, or the reverse lights need to be brighter. What is the point of a reverse camera if I can-??t see anything out of it.

The backup lights are too dim to safely see where you are going when in reverse at night.
- Kansas City, KS, USA
Reverse camera and the associated lights are VERY dim. It is very difficult to see out the rear camera.
- Chittenango, NY, USA
The backup camera at night is practically black. I find many people complaining about this online, but no fix. It is dangerous to back that car up at night!!! There must be a fix before someone gets hurt. Either upgrade the camera or upgrade the backup lighting
