Ridgeline

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

It was a usual Monday morning, I was driving to work, turn onto a quiet street, with no other cars on the road. I took a left turn into a public parking spot, slowly and with hands on the wheel, and suddenly my truck assist comes on and there was a jerk, and the truck brake assist stops the truck, 1/2 way into the parking spot? I'm not sure why?

I must have then touched the gas pedal to continue into my parking spot and at that moment, the truck RESUMES the speed in which I was driving before the brake came on... and runs me into a brick wall. No, the cruise control was NOT on. I don't know why the brake came on? I don't know why the computers took over and drove me into a wall? There was over 15K in damages. Called HONDA, they said I can turn off the brake assist in the future to avoid issues??? I need a lawyer!

I was in the market for a 2020 Honda CR-V; however, I have had a change of heart after my brother, who is driving a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, hit a car that cut infront of him -- HIS AIRBAG DID NOT EVEN DEPLOY! Well, we got an email back from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) so we definitely provided a copy of the repair order-- damages cost over $14,000 to repair.

I felt bad because I coaxed him in buying a 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E so he can have the "advanced" Honda Sensing with "autobraking" that obviously didn't work when needed.
