Vehicle goes into limp mode, limited power, flashing check engine light This happens after extended period on highway (hour or more) below 20 degrees F. When you exit highway and come to a stop. All good as soon as you try to accelerate CEL starts flashing and I have reduced power. To correct this. The vehicle has to be shut off and restarted. This means it happens when pulling out into traffic from a stand still at a stop light stop sign. Limited to about 15 mph regardless of road pulling onto. Then have to pull over shut off and restart put back in drive and go. This is not ideal in most cases and dangerous. Honda released a TSB but will not cover if out of warranty. I filed case with Honda at 70 K. They agreed to pay for parts and labor minus $50 deductible and sales tax on parts. This affect all 2017 to 2023 and some 2024 vehicles with 3.5L engine. This first happened to me with roughly 2k miles on car and is sporadic. Only cold weather and matches their TSB. Happens frequently every winter for me. For last 3 years When I found Honda TSB 24-085 suddenly the dealer knew this was happening. Yet I have been complaining for 3 years of issue. Once I showed them tsb suddenly oh that-??s what you mean.

2022 Ridgeline's Auto Idle Engine Off/On activated while driving/moving. This week it occurred (Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024) on I95 in Virginia when going down hill at approximately 70 mph. The engine ceased without warning and the steering and brake pedal began to freeze up when I had eased off the gas to coast briefly down hill (in order to keep in the flow of traffic). I then gave it gas, pumping the pedal, and a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up; the Truck-??s starter buzzed loudly as it restarted. I avoided an accident in traffic by not panicking and luckily because the vehicle behind us was not tailgating and that the section of highway was straight and not on a bend - otherwise it could have been catastrophic. The rest of the trip we turned the feature off and the truck had no incidents. Based on the few previous events, which were at slower speeds, it seems that if the truck coasts even briefly the feature can trigger as if the sensor "senses" that the truck is not moving - and the engine turns off (previously it felt like the truck was stalling). I previously mentioned the incidents to the dealer service techs but there is no awareness or acknowledgement of the issue. This week I placed another call to the dealer and left a detailed message - but nobody at the dealer has acknowledged this is an issue.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the system failed to alert the contact of any objects behind the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer to ensure that the backup sensors worked as needed; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle lurched forward after repeated depression of the accelerator pedal and then resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

When stopped at a red light and idle engine auto-stop engaged the vehicle displayed battery warning light and a -??Shift to Park-?? message on display. Vehicle had to be shifted into park and restarted manually before it could move. Your Questions: 1. Battery/Auto-stop-start system. Sure, you can inspect it. 2. Vehicle was non-responsive and immobile at a busy intersection. 3. No, the incident just happened today, but apparently the NHTSA is investigating a similar problem in the Pilot, a mechanically identical vehicle. https://wtop.com/national/2022/06/us-investigating-complaints-that-honda-engines-wont-restart/ 4. No 5.None. Red battery dash light illuminated at time of incident. I did not notice it before this happened. The vehicle had been at freeway speeds for 30+ minutes, so low voltage shouldn't have been an issue. It was below-freezing at the time, however.

Issue: transmission would not shift from 1st gear. After running an errand, started vehicle, reversed from parking place, pressed D/S button and proceeded to street entrance. After waiting a bit, I merged onto street and accelerated, but transmission would not shift from 1st gear; engine was running a very high RPM. Traffic behind me moved to inside lane to avoid my vehicle. I released accelerator and transmission shifted to slightly higher gear but would not shift again. Engine RPM was still very high at low vehicle speed. I pressed the D/S transmission button again, and this restored the transmission to normal operation. This malfunction put me and the vehicles behind me in danger of collision. The problem occured on Friday 22nd July 2022. Vehicle has 780 miles on odometer. I have not consulted dealer or other organizaton. There were no warning lamps, messages or audible alarms.

Equipment did not malfunction, but it behaved in a way that was not expected. Equipment available for inspection upon request. The actuation pressure of the shifter buttons is too high. Occasionally a full press on the reverse or drive buttons doesn-??t shift the transmission into the expected drive mode. I pressed the reverse button, and expected the vehicle to shift to reverse, but when I applied gas it rolled forward. I was able to react quickly enough to stop the vehicle from colliding with my garage door. This happened again in the parking lot of a local shop, I was again able to react quickly enough to prevent a collision. The same issue happened again at work, but after trying to shift into drive, the vehicle failed to shift out of reverse despite apparent tactile full button press. Compone try not inspected by dealer or any authorities, no accidental collision have occurred. No warning lights or other indicators have appeared. Equipment hasn-??t failed, but it behaves in a way that is unexpected and could cause a low speed collision.
