I went to crank up my Hummer to warm it up due to the very cold weather once I cranked the Hummer I immediately smelled a very strong burning odor. It begin to smoke and my husband yelled it your truck and I looked and saw the smoke getting worse and thicker. I unhooked my infant son's car seat belt and took him out of the vehicle. I ran to the building we were leaving to call 911 because of the smoke while on the phone with the 911 dispatcher I saw the fire start inside the truck on the steering wheel and dashboard it then it immediately spread and burned the entire inside of the truck where it is not recognizable. The fire department came and sprayed water on it to put out the fire there were blue and red sparks shooting out of the truck. The sparks and fire started in the steering wheel area which showed there was an electrical issue that caused this fire. I checked other recalls and noticed that the issue I speak of was recalled inside of the 2006 H2 Hummer.

Seat warmers defective. Dealer says the cushion & wires are fried & need to be replaced. Does not normally happen. This is a potential fire hazard.

Windshield wiper intermittent. Comes on without switch being activated, will not go off at all. Pulled fuse at the dealership still wouldn't go off. Was driving down the road in the rain, wipers would not function at all, however wiper fluid was rapidly spraying out at full spray and continued to spray after fluid was all gone. Bad visibility problems. Had to pull over to side of freeway in redding, ca and call local Hummer dealer which was 100 miles away. Gentleman I spoke with said he had heard of this many times. Got it fixed, and it did not remedy the problem. Now I have front end problems, brake problems, frame is squeaking really bad and dealership cant find anything wrong. Rear passenger window keeps falling down. All in all Hummer are the biggest pile of junk on the road. Ill never give my money to GM again. They do not stand behind what they sell. Now I cant even trade it in. They'll sure take your money and finance you no problem, but when you have problems they turn the other cheek and act like nothings wrong or its all your fault. I have a very strict maintenance program for all my vehicles, so them saying that its my fault, or if its involved in a crash, insurance companies want to place blame too. Good thing I have records...lots of records. I've also had problem with seat recall. One of the first times I drove it the easy out was activated and it crushed me up against the steering wheel. I turned that off really quick!
