problem #4

H2

  • 89,612 miles
Driving along and suddenly the speedometer sticks. When coming to a stop, T is stuck at 40mph. Then we went again and the speedometer sped up to 85 and then stuck, this happened successively until it stuck beyond the scale. Now it is stuck and won't come back down. Looks like GM has a serious issue as so many people have complained about this problem online.

Speedometer erratic or stuck on 120mph. Same problem GM Tahoe/Suburban are having. Dealer wants $600 to fix. Same stepper motor part as Tahoe/Suburban.

2003 Hummer H2 speedometer is not accurate or consistent. Currently the gauge is stuck above the max speed on the gauge. Earlier today the speedo went down to 35 mph while the vehicle was at a stop then clicked or surgered its way past 120mph while driving approx. 70mph. This is maddening and unsafe.

H2 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles
Speedometer reading too fast all the time, dealer diagnosed as bad speedo stepper motor. Estimated cost of repair $700. Researched and found many complaints of same problem. Safety issue should be resolved with manufacture recall.
