The pass lock keeps my vehicle from starting and stopping it at random, and has been doing this for years. Seems to happen to at least 85% of Hummer out there if you check around, Hummer forum and other places. This is very serious. Stops at intersections, and could on railroad tracks. I know that you've had complaints about this for years and ignored them, saying that you haven't had other complaints. This should be addressed by your Agency, as your job is to keep the citizens safe. Not pass them off as you've been doing for years on this issue with the GM pass lock system. This needs recalled before more people are killed due to this miss function on Hummer. More people are having this shutdown issue than not. When it happens, you have to wait between 10 and 30 minutes with the key in the start position before it will start. So it sits in the middle of an intersection, interstate, bridge, or anywhere else during this time. Hopefully you will address this issue promptly.

The contact owns a 2003 Hummer H2. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. It took the contact up to thirty minutes to start the vehicle and the lock warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the ignition switch was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Exhaust manifold bolts rusted off and the vehicle makes a ticking sound. I just observed a video explaining that this is a common problem. It also may cause other emissions related problems. Call me day or night for any further information. This vehicle has had nothing but problems and an unrelated engine fire due to the faulty windshield wiper motor in 2009.

A parked Hummer H2 2003 was spontaneously combusted and destroyed. The SUV was driven that fateful day for about 15 minutes back and forth to a grocery store and parked in our driveway. Engine was off and key was out. About 10 minutes later, my daughter noticed the engine on fire and panicked. Called 911. Fire engine hosed the fire out in the next 1/2 hour but the SUV was charred and the front of the house damaged badly. We had kept the H2 well maintained and serviced it regularly. There were no mechanical or electrical issues otherwise. We are a non-smoking family. Very sad to see our pride and joy burnt to ashes. My family could have been badly hurt. Please investigate so others could be saved from the catastrophe we are going through.
