Additionally, the power steering fluid leaked unto the hydro-boost braking system, causing the brakes to malfunction and become spongy, extending the braking distance. The contact works as an independent mechanic and confirmed the causes of the failures. The local dealer apple valley Chevrolet located at 650 foxcroft ave, martinsburg, wv 25401 and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number: 05V043000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 240,000.
