The contact owns a 2005 Hummer H2. The contact stated that the air bag service warning indicator remained illuminated while driving, which was a safety concern. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (haley Buick GMC, 9831 midlothian turnpike, richmond, va 23236, (804) 320-9054) where it was diagnosed that the sensing diagnostic module for the front driver's seat needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part being discontinued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 83,550.

Takata recall hasn't included but should have included the H2 Hummer 2005. This light is on constantly. Feel very unsafe driving it. Now, because they are trying to say it's the consumers responsibility. I will take this matter to the news stations if I have to. That's totally ridiculous. The vehicle was parked and when we got into it to leave the light was on and blinking and would not go off.

The SDM (sensing and diagnostic module) on my 2005 Hummer H2 is not working and is causing my air bags to not work, and also causes other modules to not be able to communicate and cause my gauges and other electrical accessories to not operate (windows, locks, etc.) many other Hummer H2 owners are having this same problem. A new SDM would fix the issue, but GM for some reason has discontinued manufacturing this module. Why would GM stop making a safety related item for vehicles that are only arould 10 years old with many still on the road. So, now we must drive it with the air bags most likely not going to deploy in a crash.

There has to be a recall done on the 2005 Hummer H2 airbag module. When it rains the water gets in to vehicle from the driver side. I see a lot of complaints from other people that have the same issue. I have currently only 61,000 miles on my Hummer H2. Never got in a accident. Only issue is the water coming in from the driver side and damaged the air bag module. The part # is 12249649, and it only works on the 2005 no other year modules will work. The part is discontinued from GM.

Air bag control module nla oem 12249649. After a rain I started up my parked vehicle the service air bag listed in the driver information center as well as the red warning lamp turn and stayed on I am the original owner and have never been in any crash. Took to both GM dealer and independent shop with the same response of a replacement was not available. In my research I have found the same issue with other 2005 owners and have contacted the GM help line (case number 8-2560253832) to no avail. My local GM dealer tried several leads but were all dead ends. Previous years of this same model vehicle have this component available but will not fit the 2005 year model as I am told.

A problem with nearly all Hummer H2S is roof leak, there is a drainage system to drain the water thru the vehicle. This clogs up periodically and the water drains into the vehicle and ends up on the front floorboard. The airbag sensor diagnostic module is mounted on the floorboard directly under the drivers seat. If this gets wet, which it does, the module is ruined and renders the airbags inoperable. This has happened to my vehicle and I am sure many others. If this module is not in working order it has to be replaced, however, General Motors has discontinued making the airbag sensor diagnostic module for the 2005 Hummer H2 model year!. I am sure I am not the only person (owner) caught up in this situation. The vehicle is still operative and drivable. Airbag sensor diagnostic module should be available and manufacture should ensure it is available. The vehicle is only 10 years old and if I owned a prior year the module is still available. It is a safety issue because of where it is located in the vehicle and manufacture knowledge of leak problems, and only one year discontinued. I have contacted General Motors and there reply was "sorry". it very apparent General Motors has no regard for the safety of their customers!
