The oil has been changed but I will drive it 10 to 15 miles and stop. The oil light and the dinger come on. I reset the button and then come to the next stop and the light comes on and the dinger goes off. The only way it stops is shutting off vehicle and let it set overnight. I check the oil when it does this and the dip stick is fine. Is this an oil sensor problem and is this under warranty or a recall?

Engine light came on during emission testing, which caused the vehicle to fail. Just had the thermostat and evaporator valve replaced the week before. The emissions department stated that it was a code P0300, misfire in cylinder 1. I took the vehicle for diagnostics and after a coil test and compression test (failed), they stated that is was a cylinder valve leakage. They also stated that there was a bulletin out on 2006 H3 for this issue. When I contacted GM customer service, I was told that the vehicle's VIN was not a part of this bulletin and that the mileage was past the warranty. The only thing they could suggest to me is to take it to a GM certified repair facility and I would have to pay for the complete repair myself.

The check engine light goes off and on intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who performed a diagnostic that located the failure at the engine head cylinder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and denied assistance with the repair because the vehicle warranty was expired. The mechanic stated it was due to an inferior soft metal used to manufacture the heads which caused a loss of combustion when the engine was idling. The blowback at idle was what was causing the engine light to illuminate. Mechanic also stated this problem was a recurring problem in this 5cyl engine which is the same engine that is in the Colorado pickups and is covered under a GM recall in the pickups but not the Hummer. The mechanic stated that the issue will only get worst. Please help as I was given a price to repair of approx. $4000 if I was going to pay for the repairs myself at the dealership.

While driving received check engine code for #5 cylinder misfire. Took it straight into the local GM dealer who informed me the head was already replaced at 16K miles and now another head is needed. GM is not willing to cover any cost as the 2006 does not have a power train warranty included. So contacted Hummer customer care line and still waiting on word what will be done.

I recently purchased a 2006 H3. From the day I bought the car I have noticed a weird idle when the vehicle is warming up. Until recently I thought it was the way the vehicle ran normally. I decided to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic. After being inspected the mechanic noticed the vehicle's valves were not seeded right from the factory, which has caused the misfire, which causes the weird idle. I now am in the process of contacting Hummer to see if there is a solution to the problem. The vehicle has only 61870 miles on it and I don't feel this should have happened this soon in the vehicles life. Service bulletins have been warranted and I would like to find a reasonable solution to the problem.
