The contact owns a 2006 Hummer H3. While driving he noticed that the warning indicator light on the dashboard indicated low pressure in the tires. The contact checked the tires, and noticed that all four had low tire pressure. The dealer stated that there was excessive corrosion in the alloy of the passenger's rear wheel. The dealer dismounted the tires and the corrosion adhered to the bead of the tire, and 4 inches of the tire stuck to the rim of the tire. The dealer informed the contact that they would pay to replace the tire, including grinding off the corrosion on all 4 wheels. The contact wanted NHTSA to be aware of the safety risk involved. The current mileage was 21,000. The consumer stated dealer informed him tire striking an object, where tired was badly corroded could cause blow out. The consumer provided repair invoice.
