I am the original owner of a 2007 General Motors Hummer H3. The auto has been well maintained and professionally serviced by a GM dealership. The vehicle has 53,600 miles and is in perfect mechanical condition except this recent issue with passlock security which has rendered the vehicle unreliable and a personal and public safety hazard. The vehicle is less than 30 days out of warranty and dealer will not repair under warranty. In recent weeks, the passlock security light began randomly illuminating while driving. This light could extinguish on next start or stay illuminated through several starts. Two weeks ago while returning from a trip later at night, the vehicle was disabled and failed to start in an airport parking lot. The passlock light continually flashed and the engine cranked, but without starting. A tow truck was called, but by the time it arrived, an attempt to start the vehicle was successful and the light was extinguished. This has happened at least twice since in less inconvenient and less dangerous areas. The vehicle is unreliable and unsafe. I cannot trust it to allow my wife to drive it for fear if her being marooned in a dangerous situation. The dealer has indicated it might be several hundred dollars to repair this problem and was well aware that it was a widespread problem with GM autos. There are hundreds of similar complaints on the internet and yet there is no response or attempt to remedy this situation by the manufacturer. I am a senior citizen and need to rely on my vehicle, but cannot rely on a vehicle whose security system can disable the vehicle at any random time. As my representative, I request the NHTSA address this with the manufacturer and remedy this safety concern. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure and the current mileage was 60,000.

My vehicle has a very common issue with a faulty resistor/wiring harness on the blower motor. There is a safety recall for the same problem on other GM trucks & vehicles and the problem is widely known/reported on the internet. For some reason GM refuses to issue/fix this recall for the Hummer H3? the problem causes the wiring to get so hot to melt the insulation, which could cause a fire. I park my vehicle in an attached garage.

Ever since I purchased this vehicle, the vehicle has stalled at between 25mph and 0. I work for the us census bureau, permanent worker and I travel through all types of weather conditions in a day, from 9,000 ft mountains covered in snow to desert gravel roads, mesas, cliffs. Over the past two years the vehicle has shut off while traversing mountain roads covered in snow with no guard rails, and three times, when the engine shut off, I lost steering and came within inches of going off the side (cliffs) of these roads, not to mention in town, when my engine shuts off as I drive, I have come close to hitting other vehicles or poles as I lose power steering on a turn.. I have to drive about 90 miles one way to get it serviced, while under warranty, I had it "repaired" about five times, no success, once warranty expired, GM dealers 90 miles away were still willing to inspect vehicle since problems started while under full GM warranty, but now, they refuse to give me a rental and tell me they do not know what the problem is. My local GM dealer (alamogordo) refuses to inspect vehicle and thus I am required to make a 180 mile round trip, but now, even dealer tells me they do not know what the issue is and they cannot reproduce the problem in the shop. I took about 6 videos with my droid after the problem happens, because the problem lingers for about 15 minutes, then it stops and the vehicle works fine. The videos how the RPM's going up and down, up and down, until the car shuts off, I restart it, then it shuts off again, over and over again. Problems usually appear in the am, as I drive off for the first time, before it is driven a good distance, but can and has happened at any moment. Very dangerous and I do not feel safe each morning as I leave my mountain home, especially in cold snow weather.
