On 3/13/2020 my wife was driving our 2007 Hummer H3 when the engine compartment and dash area caught on fire. The blower motor connector module had been replaced recently as part of a safety recall. The vehicle was in motion and she had just made a left turn. Although the part had been replaced, I still believe that this recall issue was the cause of said fire. The fire department called it an electrical issue. There was no warning at all. This was traumatic for my wife she had to jump out of the vehicle and had a miscarriage.

Sir/MA'am, I am writing to complain about the 2007 Hummer H3 security system not allowing the vehicle to start under certain conditions. I maintain my vehicle to high standards and over the last 8 months have had issues starting my Hummer. When the Hummer does not start, you must wait 10-15 minutes to even attempt to restart. The vehicle will turn over, but no fuel is sent to the engine to start. If it doesn't start again, you must wait another 10-15 minutes. The latter has happened to me 5 or 6 times in just the last 2 months. There have been numerous complaints to GM about this exact issue, and has fallen on deaf ears. Many vehicle forum users complain of the exact issue as well, with zero assistance from GM as seen here: Https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-C8039_ds531571 I am concerned that if the sporadic security lockdown (passlock) occurs while driving, fuel is cut off from the running engine, speed/steering/braking will be minimized, and the possibility of a crash is increased exponentially. Please advise GM there needs to be a fix for this and ensure they comply! thank you for your time. I believe my photos of the blower motor fan resistor being burnt helped get GM issue a recall, and I hope this will urge them to fix as well

As I was reaching a light to slow down behind a vehicle, my car up in dies on me out of nowhere. I was unsure as to what happened seeing as I just intended to slow down for my Hummer to just completely die on me. I had it in drive but it died how it was (my speedometer was still sitting at 40 mph). I had never had this issue before so I was confused in scared because when my vehicle stopped, nothing would turn on not even my hazard lights. I was unable to communicate with other drivers to let them know there was an issue with my vehicle as I was stuck in the middle of the road with the key not even clicking to the ignition. I called the police to bring a detour and a tow tuck.

The battery continues to be dead: Sometimes starts, sometimes doesn't. I've replaced the battery twice and problem remains. How many complaints does it take for the manufacturer to remedy this problem? I love my Hummer, but I am afraid to go anywhere in it because I don't want to get stranded when it is below freezing outside. Currently I have to carry a spare battery and jumper cables in my backseat just to get it started when this problem acts up. Also affecting my ability to work and take care of my family. Strongly suggest a class-action law suit against the manufacturer to correct this problem. Enough is enough!!

I purchased this 2007 Hummer H3 on June 2016 with 77,000 miles on it. On 11/13/2016 with 80,300+ miles, I experienced the first no start condition due to "passlock theft-deterrent system" indicator blinking when I tried to start the vehicle. I looked up the owners manual on page 100 and it indicated to wait 10 minutes before starting the vehicle again. The vehicle started after waiting for 10 minutes. The second no start condition with "passlock theft-deterrent system" indicator blinking again was on 12/05/2016 with 80,900+ miles and outside temperature was freezing point at that time and I have to wait 10 minutes inside the cold vehicle before I can start it again.

Several times, while parked, the passlock security system will randomly disables the engine from starting. After waiting 10 minutes the system will allow the vehicle to start. This makes starting the vehicle in an emergency very unreliable and dangerous.

Ignition switch on this vehicle is failing same as on other GM vehicles which have been recalled. Switch setting changes into off position shutting off vehicle when a moderate bump or dip in the road is encountered, shutting off vehicle and locking steering wheel. GM refuses to honor recall for ignition since this vehicle was not listed under active recall/lawsuit settlement. 5 occurrences of this shut down to-date. GM complaint number 8-2272247746 was resolved in their opinion by stating to me this vehicle was not covered under the umbrella of the current GM ignition recall. The stated that they share my safety concern and believe I should have the vehicle serviced at my expense. They suggested contacting safe cars.gov to attempt adding this vehicle to active recall. Please help.

My car will not start due to the pass lock engaging when I go to start the vehicle. I have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for pass lock to reset and then it will start. My car is always parked when this problem occurs. This problem has been on going for a year now, started once a month and now it's every 2 weeks.
