The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the cruise control engaged and the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact tried to break and disengage the cruise control but was unable to stop the vehicle until he shifted into neutral gear. The vehicle was taken to dealer who stated that the break switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 50,000. Updated 06/17/11 the break switch was replaced. However, the technician stated the problem may return if the break switch failed again. Updated 12/16/11
