This complainant is the Owner of a Hyundai Accent 2013 GLS. The car use to drive fine until about a month ago, while I was stepping on the brake to come to a stop, the steering wheels sharply moved into the other lane. This situation got even dangerous this last week when the vehicle started drifting on the high way. I reported to a MIDAS mechanic who agreed this is a safety hazard. This needs to be checked by Hyundai.

When you start the car and touch the steering wheel, it vibrates hard, and the 2 front tires. while driving you can barely keep the car on the road it seems the steering wheel has little or no control. It gets better after you drive a bit, but still vibrates and while parked the steering wheel moves on its on. Lastly after turning the car off the steering wheel and tires still vibrates for about 2-5 seconds afterwards.

(my car has been driven modestly since purchase on 1/15/16) there are roughly 40,760 miles on my car.1/31/16 I turned out of my work parking lot, made a left.my steering became uncontrollable at less than 15mph.I have a steady hand.I remained calm.but when I tried to break to prevent a possible collision into anything after the steering seemed to have gone out, I braked harder than normal, but not slammed. The car jerked uncontrollably as I pressed on the break, it felt like the breaks were jumping/hitting the ground.on the same3-5mile drive home this happened several more times, drove half the speed limit and still persisted. This is cause for anxiety for any future driving. If panic had of taken over because such issues that alone could have been my life. I had quick thinking when this happened, not everyone does. My car is definitely not okay and I had several "almost" collisions on this one drive home when I was alert and aware something was wrong. Granted it periodically worked as it should of, it never shouldn't have. Had this not happened at low speeds when the first profound lose of control occurred due to a mechanical issue, not driver error. And had I not been on alert with my hand awaiting to use the E-brake after it became very apparent something was not okay.. I undoubtedly would have totaled my car and would like to stress the risk of injury that happened at low speeds. Granted, I handled myself well, and made it home in one piece I fell apart after I was safe at home, after it sunk in what could have happened to me. My car is not safe for driving. There is a service bulletin(service bulletin no.: tsb-13-at-008 ) (NHTSA id number: 10052147)(hyundaiaccent2012-2013) that I believe this is related to and I very much would like to know if the repairs needed to make my vehicle safe again will be at no cost to me.

Driving, all road conditions the car drifts left or right and the steering wheel feels like it hits a stop point and correction has to be made constantly. Dealer gave me another 2013 elantra to test drive and it drove well without the problems of my car. And it had more milage than mine.

August 2011 purchased 2010 Hyundai Accent auto. 4 door sedan. VIN [xxx]. as previously reported to the NHTSA, in March 2012 a better business bureau arbitrator ruled that the car had suffered manufacturer defect transmission mounts. The dealer did replace the two mounts which substantially reduced a front end and passenger compartment vibration and shaking. Some vibration remained; I took the car back to the dealer. At two dealers I was told by about six Hyundai employees that the remaining vibration was "normal". but I went for another inspection, the mechanic noted the vibration and said it was normal. But thirty minutes later, the service dealer wrote vibration "cannot be duplicated". so the arbitrator and Hyundai corporate consultant [xxx] in writing witnessed the constant vibration and made such ruling after Hyundai dealer said "could not be duplicated." October 2012 Hyundai's [xxx] said vibration had been fixed; this was not true. The defective mounts need to be the subject of recall for the safety of other Hyundai owners. The 2013 Accent. Purchased August 2012. The owner manual says check for vibration in the steering wheel; and have loose bolts checked at 15,000 miles. By online appointment I asked the dealer: "engine idle is erratic, not smooth, please adjust; with air conditioning running, car idling in park, vibration felt thru steering wheel, please adjust; when put in gear, engine moves, please adjust motor mounts." La Hyundai at lax cancelled the appointment and with corporate [xxx] refused to inspect the vehicle August 15 in person on. See site youtu.be/zaklz5_rrwi. Hyundai says free inspection of safety components; I was denied all warranty inspection including mechanical inspection. NHTSA needs to order safety and customer service training of all Hyundai dealers. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Aug 2011 bought 2010 Accent automatic with 38,000 miles. After I complained of vehicle vibration [a known problem to Hyundai] dealer and manufacturer replaced two transmission mounts as defective but refused to fix erratic idle and passenger area vibration at idle. Non-Hyundai mechanics said vibration caused by defective upper engine mount. The better business bureau and Hyundai consultant verified the vibration was still there but Hyundai refused to fix it. I read newspaper article that said Hyundai engineers worked hard on models to fix the vibration and other suspension problems so I traded the 2010 dog in August 2012 for 2013 Accent SE 5-door automatic, thinking lightning cannot strike twice in the same spot. Now about 1000 miles and 2 months and there is play in motor mounts, vibration in steering wheel with compressor on, erratic idle, rough ride and bouncy floating suspension, and other small items, but vibration in passenger area 90% gone. Fuel economy not as advertised. I took car for inspection after online appointment with most conveniently located dealer L.a. Hyundai at lax [not selling dealer] and manufacturer ; three employees including owner and service manager would not inspect the car, shouting match ensued, they called police to remove me and car from the lot. See youtube site legaladvocate71 for videos and site attorney-ethics-elderly-abuse.com. Police ordered me off the lot. Still have not gotten inspection. Hyundai does not back their cars and will lie, retaliate, and threaten you with arrest if you seek service. This is a horrible auto buying experience. This does not include what happened at the selling dealer. Without availability of warranty service, the car is worthless now and forever in all areas. Hyundai will order you arrested if you complain.
