Azera Limited 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission

there are 2 large cracks in the dash over the air bag

I took my car to the dealer to report the initial crack in the dash over the passenger air bag. I was told it was out of the 60,000 mile warranty so they could do nothing to help me. Now there are 2 cracks in the dash over the air bag. Short of me spending the $1,500 myself to replace the entire dash pad, I do not feel safe letting a passenger sit close the the dash area. I have the seat positioned all the way back as to keep them at a safe distance. I could go on and on about dealing with the dealership but who cares right. The personnel changes so much, that there is no accountability for previous issues. I am really concerned about the safety of my passengers.

Thomas Hyundai will replace the dashboard if we pay $200.00. The car is garage kept. We do not have the money to fix this defect.

The dashboard on the passenger's side has hair line "stress" cracks, it shows the outline where the airbag will deploy (if it will in fact deploy). This is a critical defect, I believe Hyundai should cover the costs 100%. (this is out of warranty) BUT it is a defect no matter what the regional rep from Hyundai says.

We asked them for a letter stating they will be responsible for all injuries, due to defective product. They said no way. I have seen other individuals stating the same thing about this dashboard. The owner should not be liable to pay on defective part. This is a serious matter; I cannot believe this dealership is willing to lose a customer, not to mention if anyone says they are buying one of these vehicles we will be damn straight with our experience.

This company is treating us like crap. This car has a rear shade, the mechanism has gone bad twice, it keeps stripping the gears. This too is out of warranty and this dealer will not pay for this. One unhappy customer takes 10 happy customers to make up for the unhappy customer!!!!!!!

There is a crack on the dash-board that I thought at first was an opening for the air bag, but someone said it was not normal.
