: the contact stated while attempting to restrain a child in a safety seat with the left rear seat belt, the seat belt buckle assembly fractured without warning. Additionally, the front seat belt webbing strap tightened when engaged during normal use. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who was unable to determine the cause of buckle assembly fracture, but determined the front seat belt was designed that way. The manufacturer was notified.
