problem #2

Apr 122014

Elantra GLS 2L, V4

  • Manual transmission
  • 120,000 miles

The shift stick started popping from being in gear back to neutral, while driving. This started happening just in 5th gear, but then began to happen in all other gears over the course of 4 months. It got to the point where I was continually putting the car back in to gear while on the road. Finally, the transmission blew out with a big bang and jolt while driving about 45 mph. I opted to have a salvaged transmission put in the car, however probably just should have sold the vehicle.

Elantra GLS 4cly

  • Manual transmission
  • 55,000 miles

I had to replace the Transmission when my car only had 55,000 miles. I did not know until today that the drivetrain was transferable to second owner and it would cover 5 yrs/60,000 miles. I had the transmission replaced and it cost me around $900.00. Can I get a refund for my expense? 2005 Hyundai Elantra Average Resale Value: $4,954 MPG Range: 24 - 32 mpg Bodystyles: Sedan, Hatchback, Wagon Button Used Price new Button Used Search classifieds Performance Handling Exterior Interior Warranty Trim Basic 5 year / 60,000 miles Free Maintenance N/A Drivetrain 10 year / 100,000 miles Roadside 5 year / Unlimited miles Rust 7 year / Unlimited miles
