problem #2

Elantra

I started to hear a grinding sound from the right rear of the car. Had the brake pads and rotors replaced. Less than 2 months later they were completely worn again and had to have the calipers replaced on both sides in the rear. It appears that Huyndai did a pretty cheap job on one of the most important parts of your car.

Elantra 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

The car is a very sound and reliable car. I have had it since new and have had one other problem and that is the accelerator cable was not a smooth pressing of the gas pedal (a chatter feeling) Dealer replaced only with my insisting that they do at no charge me (they said that there was no problem with it...wrong way to do business. I have not had a problem with the cable since then. As for the brake pad problem.. they need to go back to the previous year of this model and put the ceramic brake pads back on.
