Elantra GLS 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Since owning this car from the factory (bought new in April 2006), the car keeps wearing tires out quickly, both front and rear. Front end alignment and even rear alignment doesn't help. Shortly after having alignment, car pulls to right. I rotate the tires every 5K. Have changed all the tires three times now and the vehicle only has 72K (19K, 43K, 60K tire changes). The last time the mechanic told me the car needed new struts, so I changed those and that was at 50K, so I suspect suspension and steering are problem areas on these cars as I have seen a lot of complaints about tire wear...the Elantra has no camber adjustment and this might have something to do with the tires wearing out prematurely. What's the point of buying high mileage (costly tires), when you only get 20K out of them. The wear is on the inside of the tires at all four corners.
