Please be warn of purchasing a Hyandai Elantra!!! I can't stress that enough!!! The car won't start at times. The car will remain in park and the brake pad will lock itself. I've had to call the tow truck several times to get my car going and it's always the same issue. Again I took it in to the dealership but the computer scan shows no defects and because of that I got brushed off. I'm stuck with making payments to a lemon car. I'm not the only one with the same issue there have been several other owners as well. Hyundai has not done a recall on these vehicles. Refer to http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t40609_ds554427 for more complaints. DO NOT BUY!

This is the 3rd time this problem has occurred within a 4 month time period, but the first time I am reporting on this site. When I attempt to start the car, the engine does not turn over. I am unable to start the care and move it out of park into gear. The issue is not the battery because the radio turns on, I am able to roll windows up/down.

The first time this occurred, the tow truck driver used the Shift Lock Release to start the car and that is the same process I used this time to start the engine and move out of park.

The first time I took the car to the dealership, they could not determine what the cause was since they were unable to replicate the problem and the "computer" did not register any errors.

I am working with the dealership again, let's see what they say.
