problem #1

Elantra Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,115 miles

I own a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited. Black with Black Leather Interior which was a beautiful car. This car is used by one driver to go less than 25 miles a week to local college. No one has ever sat in the back seat of this car. Hyundai Customer Care Center has photos that the Irvine Dealership took of the back seat thread coming apart on top of seat area. The car is in mint condition with the exception of the top of the back seat where the stitching is coming apart. You can now see the foam showing thru the thread coming apart on the top of leather seat in the back. The Irvine Hyundai Service Writer thought for sure this would be 100% covered under the 5 year warranty. He was shocked they denied my claim to have it repaired. The Irvine Dealership told me to put in a claim with Hyundai Headquarters which I did.

The problem is that Poor Quality of thread was used on top of back Leather seat and now thread is coming apart. The car is a 2013, one year old with very few miles on it. 10,115 miles

I have a 5 year Interior warranty or 100,000 miles what ever comes first and Hyndai Customer Care Center denied my claim because they made the final decision that it was caused by the outside environment. This is an Unacceptable response from Hyundai. I have owned 3 Honda for years with all Leather seats and still in great condition.

This is unacceptable of Hyundai to not fix or repair on the stitching that is coming apart. I called back my claim manager to discuss further and they told me case is closed and final and will not further discuss.
