I have been hearing a noise that I can only describe as something rolling around in the trunk. (loud enough to be recognizable). It started sometime in October. It is difficult to describe when it would happen. One way was when I was stopped, and then accelerated; going down a slight decline (driveway) and hit the road. That's why I thought something was rolling back and forth in the trunk. I cleaned out the trunk completely. I took the car in to the dealership on 12/1/2014. to investigate the problem. It was explained to me that what I was hearing was the "fuel in tank moving back and forth". Also that the problem was "normal" and there are no parts or service available for this issue.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing (as the diagnosis). I've never heard of anything like this. My sister has the exact same car purchased two months after I bought mind, at the same dealership. To date, she has not had this problem. I tried to get an explanation of why this just started making the noise, why my sister's car didn't have the same problem, and why in 59 years I've never heard of a problem such as this. I did send an email to the Hyundai Company customer service dept. They said they were sorry I was having this problem, but they would have to defer to whatever the dealership service dept. says since they are the one's who checked out the noise.

I have been a Honda owner for most of my driving years (used and then new). I switched to Hyundai because of the warranty and I felt it was very comparable to the Honda Civic. I think I made a mistake in judgement. Has anyone else ever heard of anything like this???
