The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the stabilitrak and traction control warning indicators flashed, the steering wheel made an abnormal noise when turned in either direction, and the vehicle accelerated slowly when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Rancho grande motors (1404 auto park way, san luis obispo, ca 93405, (805) 543-4745) was notified of the failures. The vehicle was currently at the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 39,600.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. While driving 70 mph, the ABS and traction control failed. The contact stated that the brakes seized and the vehicle independently veered into opposing lanes. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the shoulder of the highway and turned off the engine. Upon restarting the vehicle, the ABS, traction control, and parking brake warning indicators remained illuminated. The failure recurred. Midway Hyundai post falls (1665 East edmonton avenue, post falls, Idaho 83854, (208) 619-2500) was made aware of the failure and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owned a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. While driving approximately 35 mph, the brakes failed and there was a loss of traction. The contact rear ended another vehicle that was approximately the length of two vehicles ahead of her. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The driver and front passenger had the wind knocked out of them, but were not injured. Ambulatory care was received. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a facility. The vehicle had not been diagnosed by an insurance adjuster or a dealer. The contact was made aware of NHTSA campaign number: 17V769000 (service brakes, hydraulic) after the crash, but had not received a recall notification in the mail from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the crash months later. The approximate failure mileage was 69,154.
