My 2013 Elantra caught fire and burnt yesterday while warming up in the yard. No reason for it but hope to find out what happened. Car was like new and not driven much, no problems with it or any indications of something wrong. Will get screwed over with the whole deal. Still owed around 23 grand on loan and will be lucky to get 15 from insurance. Have had car since last Oct. Bought new.
Does anyone know or heard of this happening before? Have been looking for answers but not much luck.There was a DiamondKote rust protector on it, Think it may have had something to do with it? Any help with this mess I find myself in would be most welcome.
Update from Feb 20, 2015: Things are looking up with the insurance. According to them my car was not the only one that has burnt. Still looking into the issue to find the problem.
