SO, I take the car into the Hyundai dealer where I bought it. Needed to be inspected and it had a "Brake Pedal Stopper" recall (Locator #QFJBDT). One of the issues with this problem is it may allow your brake light to remain on after you have taken your foot off the brake. Now I am no Einstein, but that could lead one to believe that might cause a bulb to overheat and melt the plastic around it, yes?

So, during the inspection, the Assistant Service Manager informs me I have a melted rear break lamp assembly, and it would cost $230 to repair. He said the warranty on it was only 5 years (I have had the car 6, purchased a 2013 brand new in 2012 - only 66000 miles on it). I asked him did he not realize exactly what type of recall work they had JUST DONE ON MY CAR? They fixed a problem which could cause the break lamps to overheat and melt!!!!!! Said he had "no good will to be able to help me".

I am not making this up. I could not make this up. Only Hyundai could come up with such a sorry scenario. Get ready Hyundai, someone about to go on a Social Media tirade, and it's not going to be pretty.
