On April 14th I got into a car accident where I ended up on my drivers side in a ditch and my side impact airbags didn't deploy. I later found out that I was pregnant at the time. My husband contacted Hyundai that day to open a claim with them and ever since we have always been the person to call or email. They have been no help to us at all. My husband took pictures of the airbags when it was at the tow truck shop waiting for someone to take it to the repair shop, he also took picture of the airbags after we picked it up from the repair shop and you can clearly see where someone has tampered with the airbags. It has gotten so bad that we reported them to the BBB and our state attorney general. It has been almost two months since anyone has driven my car because We don't feel safe now knowing if the airbags will deploy if we need them too. At this point we feel like someone did check the airbags and found something wrong and decided to make it look like no one had looked at them.

It was Jan 8, 2017 and it had been raining. My son was driving the vehicle and he hydroplaned on the freeway going 55-60 mph. The vehicle did a 90 degree on the freeway and hit the guard rail. Both my son and grand daughter had whiplash but no other visible signs. The air bags did not deploy.

I opened a claim with Hyundai to investigate and asked for two things, 1) why didn't the air bag deploy and 2) compensation since we bought a new car expecting everything to work properly which in my mind it didn't. The hired a private inspector and the findings came back that air bags performed as expected. Seriously, when there is a front end collision, I would expect the air bags to deploy.

Reported the problem and was told in so many words that they're not responsible for the airbags not deploying because the car had to be hit a certain way. The fact that the seat belts didn't tighten up was another excuse.

I had just come across some railroad tracks and the seat belts had just tighten up. Anytime you come across tracks or hit a bump they tighten up but, after this incident they didn't and I would like to really know why. My car was totaled and there were 5 people in the car by the Grace of God we survived after being hit from the back, another car from the side being knocked off the road, then rolled over three times. After all that it landed down and hit the ditch frontwards.

Now I don't understand why they feel they shouldn't compensate me with another transportation from their pockets. They say they stand behind their cars that's bull. I have had 3 Hyundai cars and 2 trucks but have never been in an accident till 2016. The company does not want to bend and pay I feel they should.

I'm calling a lawyer, could have died form airbag not going off during crash. My car was totaled and have a head injury from head hitting steering wheel. Never was told that car was recalled for airbag not deploying. Don't remember how crash happened or why was knocked out and head was bleeding.
