Loose steering with clicking sound at the slightest turn of the wheel in either direction.

I called the service dept and told them about my steering wheel clicking. They told me there is no steering wheel recalls on my 2013 Elantra Gt vin number. I feel my car is VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. If there isn’t any recall on this particular problem, there NEEDS TO BE A RECALL on it ASAP before I’m in an accident caused from Hyundai neglecting a recall.

The steering on my Elantra became so loose at 45-50 mph that it was difficult to stay in my lane. I seemed to not have fine adjustment of the steering; I would have to over-correct repeatedly. The road was smooth and fairly dry. I checked the tires, which appear to be fine, but it certainly seems like it was an electronic problem more than a physical problem.
The ABS had been activated about 10 minutes earlier (very briefly) on a slick spot, but then had shut off - I'm not sure if this is related. It was so bad that I had to have my car towed 50 miles to my home; dealership isn't open because it's Thanksgiving. I have an appointment tomorrow, and I will leave an update. Many similar problem descriptions were listed on this site in the category of 2013 Hyundai Elantra NHTSA: steering. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Hyundai/Elantra/2013/steering/
No previous posters seemed to have luck with the dealership. I would love to hear any advice or suggestions, as I expect the dealership will not do anything.

When engine is running, at a stop or when driving, the wheel has free play from side to side (about an inch) with no movement on the front wheels. There is a noticeable clucking notice when this happens, just like the sound of a loose on worn out universal joint..
