Elantra 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,890 miles

This vehicle had a transmission problem not long after coming out of production. There was a TSB issued to the dealers about the transmission for this year model. My daughter nor I never once thought about a TSB until she had this problem with the tranny. The bad part about this is that the vehicle is not even paid for yet. I think that there are more transmission problems out there than hers, people just don't go to sites like this one to let other people know that they have this major power train issues with there vehicles.

I think that Hyundai should pay for these issues like this, because a transmission should last way longer than five years TSB dated 2013-04-01 auto transmission procedures in repairing and replacing related parts to transmission solenoid DTC for 2011-2013 Elantra, Sonata. TSB dated 2013-03-01 Bulletin# -13-FL-001 reads as follows, due to error in the internal control module read only memory, information is provided regarding the replacing of the PCM and a possible WARRANTY CLAIM on 2011-2013 Elantra.

I talked to Hyundai HQ and they told me this vehicle was not on the campaign list for any transmission problems. This is just a bad transmission that was put in this vehicle for this year model, under normal wear and tare driving this transmission should last longer then five years and a few months. I just want to let everyone know to look at the TSB and demand answers so the money won't come out of your pocket at the end.
