-??I am reporting the paint failure on my 2019 Hyundai Elantra as a safety-related concern. The widespread peeling has exposed bare metal, creating a risk of corrosion that can weaken body panels and potentially affect structural safety. This also reduces the vehicle-??s protective coating, which is designed to prevent environmental damage. I am requesting Hyundai review this as a potential defect rather than normal wear.-??

While driving back into town on the interstate, my oil plug fell out of my car. It was not known at the time the oil plug was what fell out. I remember hearing a clunk underneath my car. About 5-10 minutes after I heard the noise, my oil light flashed, and I could feel my car unable to accelerate further. I pulled over to the side of the road and my engine stalled. I had it towed to a body shop. The next morning, they called and said the oil plug was missing and there was no damage to my undercarriage. My engine was ruined and I was quoted $9,400 for the repair, which is probably more than the value of my car, effectively totaling it. My last oil change was November 12th, 2025 where my odometer was at 82,633. This occurred after 3,393 miles and about 2 months from this most recent oil change. I had not seen oil leaking from my vehicle well before this happened, and I had no indicator lights on or flashing well before this incident. My engine has not previously been checked for HYUNDAI TSB 21-EM-003H, HYUNDAI TSB 21-EM-004H, or KIA TSB 222.

A safety recall performed by Hyundai automotive company was completed on 10.4.2022 to remedy a known security flaw in Kia/Hyunai vehicles made between 2011 and 2022. This recall was performed successfully by a certified Hyundai dealer. Since this, the vehicle has been stolen not once, but twice. The security sytem that should be in place to prevent the ease of theft has not been effective. This has put us as owners at risk of financial harm by lack of access to a vehicle on multiple occasions. Additionally this has continued to be a public safety concern as this has put the lives and safety of others at risk when thieves are easily able to steal these vehciles and drive recklessly around a city. The problem has been reproduced by a dealership when they had to store the vehicle, locked, and were able to start the car with just a USB stick in March 2024. Additionally this issue has been reproduced by a thief again in September 2025 when a second theft occured. The vehicle has been assessed for damage at a certified Hyundai dealership and is awaiting further inspection.

Have a 2019 Hyuandi Elantra. Purchased in 2020 now only 6 years old the white paint on roof of car and around rear window the paint is chipping off. I have a softball size area in roof is all chipping off. I take very good care of my car and can-??t believe the paint is all coming off! I-??ve noticed a lot of other Hyuandi-??s on the road are also peeling and chipping off the white paint on their cars also. Reported it to hyuandi dealership several times but, have gotten no response.

My late mother-??s 2019 Hyundai Elantra (VIN: [XXX] ) was brought to Johnson Hyundai of Apex on 4/14/2025 for a known paint defect recall affecting the roof and roof rails. I was handling this vehicle as part of her estate. While the car was in the custody of their body shop, Piperformance, the windshield was cracked and replaced without my knowledge or consent. I was not informed of the damage beforehand, was never asked to authorize the repair, and was not provided an estimate or invoice in any official format. When I requested documentation, the service advisor (Josh) only sent a photo of an invoice on a laptop screen. I later received an undated, unsigned letter from the body shop admitting that they had broken the windshield and kept the old one. Important inspection and registration stickers were removed during the process and not returned for weeks. Hyundai corporate acknowledged internal failures, including missing documentation, conflicting stories, and lack of accountability. However, they refused to accept responsibility or confirm what safety inspections, if any, were done after the unauthorized windshield replacement. I am concerned the windshield replacement may not meet OEM specifications and may compromise the vehicle-??s crash safety or ADAS systems (lane keeping, forward collision alert, etc.). No documentation was provided to show the glass used was certified or that proper recalibrations were performed. I no longer trust the safety of this vehicle and plan to remove it from use. The emotional toll of dealing with this after my mother-??s passing makes the experience even more distressing. Her car was defaced and mishandled in my effort to preserve it, and I now feel responsible for navigating safety concerns caused by others-?? negligence. For the now 2nd time for the SAME problem as before, I was on the highway and the car just cut off mid drive on 8/17/2024 @70mph!! Engine light came on. Later that day while on the street, 35-40 mph, ALL OF A SUDDEN NO ENGINE LIGHT ON... the car cuts off again mid drive!! I purchased the car with roughly 15k miles on it and it's been absolutely nothing but issues back to back. The daytime running lights constantly blow out also. The shop supposedly repaired this issue when I put it in the shop the first time, but it's doing the exact same thing again.

I was driving down a main highway, approaching a busy intersection preparing to turn left... I had a green light without a green arrow and had quite a bit of distance/time between myself and any approaching vehicle so I went ahead and proceeded. Just as I entered the intersection, all of the sudden my car stopped responding to my pressing on the gas pedal. The motor was very loud and dry sounding, and the RPM gauge was running abnormally high but the car itself, was barely moving. I continued trying to give it gas, even checked to see if something had knocked it out of gear (that was NOT the case)! Cross-traffic began to approach the intersection so I really started to work on the gas pedal, pumping it and when that failed, I mashed the gas all the way to the floor and finally just before I was about to be hit the car down the pedal and finally the car began to move!! It has been doing some hesitating for a while now but it barely made it out of the intersection this time and that was terrifying!! I have it in the shop now waiting to see what the problem is but this needs reporting. I do everything I'm supposed to with maintaining my car... oil changes, spark plugs, fluid checks and it has less than 50,000 miles so that shouldn't have happened!

I have gotten notice for a recall three times from the manufacturer and/or dealership and everytime I take it in, something is wrong and there's an excuse as to why the recall isn't being done. As a matter of fact your site shows that there is no active recall but there is or I wouldn't keep getting notifications to bring my car in. I need someone to look into what is going on before something bad happens to me or my family while I'm driving. Thank you

The engine on my 2019 Hyundai Elantra failed during high speed interstate travel. After being on the highway for several hours traveling at approximately 75 mph I heard an odd "pop" which sounded like a rock flying up into the undercarriage on I-40 near Morrilton, AR. About 10 minutes after this sound occurred, my vehicle started to smoke from under the hood and then emit a rattling sound. As I pulled the vehicle to the shoulder of the road it began to flash multiple warning lights across the dashboard and became very difficult to steer. I stopped the car, turned off the ignition, and popped the hood to inspect the smoke. When I attempted to restart the car, it indicated system failure and would not restart. The car was towed to Crain Hyundai in Conway, AR for repair however they have refused to honor the warranty stating that the vehicle was vandalized by someone removing the oil plug. My insurance company investigated this allegation and found that the failure was mechanical in nature and not the result of vandalism. Further, the dealership indicated in the insurance investigation that they have never even run diagnostics on the vehicle. They simply refused the warranty when they noticed the oil plug was missing. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. When my engine blew out at a high speed on interstate traffic, my safety and the safety of others was at risk because my vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly slowed down and then stopped on the roadside. The location where I pulled over was at the top of a blind hill and oncoming traffic could not see my vehicle as they approached it. As we sat on the roadside waiting for a tow we were nearly hit 4x, including once where the vehicle lost control and spun from the right lane, across the left lane and into the median before righting itself. There were NO warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. My vehicle had been parked on a concrete drive and no leaks were seen.

Hyundai and Kia vehicles are so easy to steal. No security system. Can break back window and peel back steering column/drive away in less than 90 seconds. Hyundai and Kia Motors aren-??t doing anything to address to the issue and car theft to these vehicles is now considered an epidemic.

The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V301000 (Engine). The contact stated that the vehicle would not start while low on fuel. The contact had to keep refueling to a full tank to start the vehicle. The failure only occurred when the fuel level was at a quarter tank. The dealer was made aware of the failure but could not duplicate the failure since the vehicle had a full tank of gasoline. The dealer performed the recall repair; however, the failure recurred. Hyundai of Palatine (221 E Lake Cook Rd, Palatine, IL 60074) was also made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the recall was already repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

February 2021 - I took my vehicle to Wilson Hyundai in Flowood, MS - was told there was a recall having to do with my headlights but no components were available to make the repair. I have called numerous times to ask about replacement parts and get the run around. My lights are not bright and switching to bright is not even worth the effort. I can barely see 30ft ahead at best after the sun goes down. When will parts be available or some type of resolution because this is dangerous. There were no warning lamps on until maybe 1 month ago (October 2021), it tells me that I need to have my daytime running lamps serviced. I can't wait til I can trade this vehicle off. November 2, 2021 - I hit a dog because I did not see it.

It began in early 2020 my brakes shake when braking and sometimes don-??t work at all. After having to change my brakes multiple times and get them flushed my mechanic suggested I contact Hyundai because this was not the norm. It happens spontaneously and now the car is dying when I brake. And won-??t start without a jump. This happened now 2x once in my driveway and once in traffic.and I was almost hit by multiple cars since I had become disabled and couldn-??t get out of traffic before my car came to a complete stop. This is unacceptable. It is a well maintained new car. The headlights are very low and don-??t work well in dark areas. But the most concerning is the brakes and the car dying while driving. I need help asap.

The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that their vehicle began to emit a burning rubber type of odor that could at times caused them a headache. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the issue. The dealer just continued to drain the cooling system to prevent the vehicle from overheating. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
