I was getting off the expressway when I smelled this weird burning smell. I thought it was someone else's car until I pulled in a grocery store parking lot and realized that the smell was coming from my car, so I had it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership service department. The dealership said nothing was wrong because the check engine light wasn't on. After having my car 2 days I was told that my car is perfectly safe to drive, so I leave the dealership with my car and drove it for a while to make sure the issue was resolved - and here goes the smell again. I had to have the car towed back to the dealership where I was told nothing is wrong - the smell is a normal engine smell. But to me the smell is abnormal because I have had the car since may and I have never smelled that smell before, as far as driving the car.
I am scared to death to drive my car, especially after checking on the website for recalls and there are none listed for my vin number but the dealership found an open recall on the car for the computers in the car. So now I am really scared. Can there be other recalls and I just don't know it yet? I don't want the car anymore, and I definitely does not want to take chances with my life driving my car. 2020 Hyundai Elantra drivers - please be careful.
Something I did notice too is that at times the car doesn't accelerate that well either, then at other times it takes off. Scary - I know in my heart something is definitely wrong with my car.
