I took my car in for a routine oil change that I get done every 5,000 miles or less and because I was hearing some strange engine noise. The mechanic said that they only drained about a quart of oil, so it must be consuming oil. There is no sign of any oil leaking in my driveway. I just checked my oil level 2,500 miles after this oil change, and the dipstick is bone dry. Now I see there is a class action lawsuit against Hyundai that includes my car for this very reason... I will never be buying a Hyundai again.

About four months ago, I noticed that my check oil light would come on periodically when I would make sharp turns. I googled the issue and it said that my engine was low on oil. I got the oil changed and mentioned it to the mechanic, but they just changed the oil. My car was fine for a few months, but then it started happening again. I wasn't due for an oil change yet, so I started putting a quart of oil in whenever the light flashed on. A few weeks ago, it was making a strange noise when I would accelerate and the oil light started coming on more often, so I put a quart of oil in. Later that day, I accelerated up a hill and my car started making this terrible rattling noise and the check engine light started flashing.
I got it towed to a mechanic the next day and they said there was no oil in it. They put more oil in, but the issues persisted so they said I needed a new engine. I took it to another mechanic and he said the same thing. He looked into getting a used engine and said it would cost about $6,500 to buy it and replace it. The car is only worth about $7,000 so it's not worth it to me to go through with all that in the hopes that I can make $500. I'm hoping that Hyundai will put out a recall for the engine, and hopefully I will be able to go through with the oil consumption test, so that I can get a new engine and sell the car. This experience has shown me how awful Hyundai is as a company and how many issues their cars have. I will never buy a Hyundai again and I tell everyone I know to do the same.
