About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Both of our Hyundai Entourage sliding doors failed after approximately 65,000 miles. At first they wouldn't close all of the way or lock when using the electric door feature. Then, the problem occurred when closing the doors manually. Then, the electric feature totally stopped working all together and the doors still didn't fully close or lock when closed manually. We had it fixed and were told that the motors on the doors had burned out. This is surprising that these doors don't last longer given that it is a highlighted feature of the minivan; they should be able to withstand more use. I am suspect of this characterization of this problem.

: the contact stated on the console, a chrome plate covered the section where the gear shift lever was located. When the sun shined, it reflected into the contacts eyes making it hard to see while driving. The vehicle was driven to the dealer who determined it was designed that way. Updated 11/0/906.
